About the Album: The album "Hot Monkey Love" is a mixture of new songs and some of the band's old favorites. Great care was taken to make the sound as close to the sound of our live shows as possible. It was our intent to record quickly without too many takes. This was done in order to keep a live performance feel. With some of today's music, each track on a song is recorded and re-recorded over and over again in order to get it "just right". It is our feeling that, by doing so, the song tends to be overdone and loses its edge or "magic". Rather than having either an overdone, sterile sound or "raw" live performance, we chose to give the album a more "medium rare" flavor. Yes, there are some mistakes. However, it is often the unintended "mistakes" in music that end up giving a song the freshness and edge that keeps it interesting. We hope you enjoy listening to "Hot Monkey Love" as much as we enjoyed making it!
